Join Renee Zimmerman, Local Government and Community Engagement Manager from Puget Sound Energy, to hear about the following 3 topics:
- Clean Energy Transformation Act Update: what is PSE doing to meet its state legislation requirements?
- Energy Efficiency: current programs for Newcastle businesses and residents.
- Project Update: Energize Eastside transmission line upgrade.
Puget Sound Energy has provided our region with energy for more than 135 years to over 1.1 million electric customers and more than 840,000 natural gas customers.
About Our Speaker: Renee possesses over 25 years’ experience in strategic community relations and project management in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Currently, Renee manages public affairs strategies for major projects as a Local Government & Community Engagement Manager for Puget Sound Energy. Her nonprofit leadership experience includes serving as an Interim Executive Director for Eastside Friends of Seniors, and Executive Director for Eastside Baby Corner as well as Issaquah Highlands Council. Previous to working in the nonprofit sector, Renee managed public involvement and community engagement strategies for 12 years at the Washington State Department of Transportation. Renee received her MBA and MPA from City University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communication Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and is a graduate of Leadership Eastside’s 2-year Community Leadership Enrichment Program.Â
As an Issaquah Highlands resident since 2000, Renee loves the Issaquah community and her passion for community spills out through all her volunteer work. This work includes serving as a Board Member for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, the Nominating Committee for Eastside Baby Corner, as well as serving as a Connection Weekend Leader, by offering community volunteer opportunities for Timberlake Church attendees. She is also very involved with Boy Scouts, serving in various leadership capacities over the last 9 years, including chairing Eagle Board of Reviews, serving as a Merit Badge Counselor, and sitting on the leadership team for Troop 636 and previously for Pack 682. She is married to Erick and they have two college-aged sons and an adorable Shih Tzu to round out their family. Â
