Topic: The Future of I-405: WSDOT and Sound Transit Investments
If you’ve traveled on I-405 you’ve no doubt have noticed the changing landscape around NE 44th Street. Come and learn about the future of I-405 with WSDOT and Sound Transit Investments.

About our Speakers
Paul T. Cornish, P.E., Project Director, High Capacity Transit Development, Sound Transit
Paul has been active in the Central Puget Sound’s transportation challenges for over 25 years. He spent the first 10 years in the region working as both Transportation Planner and Project Manager for the City of Bellevue Transportation Department. Paul is currently at Sound Transit where he has spent his 17-year tenure managing the design of Light Rail, Regional Express Bus, and Sounder Commuter rail projects. Within this time, Paul was a project manager and the Light Rail Development Manager for the East Link Extension, which is under construction and will be the first light rail system in the world to be built on a floating bridge.
Paul is now the Project Director for Sound Transit’s first Bus Rapid Transit Program.
Paul has B.S, Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and is a licensed engineer.
Lisa Hodgson, P.E., Deputy Program Administrator, I-405/ SR 167 Megaprogram, WSDOT
Lisa is currently the Deputy Program Administrator for the I-405/ SR 167 Megaprogram. She has been with WSDOT for 27 years and with the I-405/SR 167 program since the beginning, in 2002. Lisa is currently overseeing the delivery of over $2B of multimodal projects on the I-405/ SR 167 corridor, working toward the I-405 Master Plan vision. Her corridor experience includes Design-Build procurement and delivery of four projects totaling over $450 million including the implementation of the Bellevue to Lynnwood Express Toll Lane system. Lisa has trained over 700 people in Design-Build with the WSDOT Design-Build Group and is a former member of the AGC/WSDOT Design-Build Team. Lisa earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Science from Washington State University. In her free time, Lisa enjoys camping and traveling with her husband, Craig, and daughter, Gracelin.
